Autonomous vehicles (AVs) are vehicles that can achieve a set of goals in a changing environment without human control or intervention. These vehicles can sense the environment, keep track of their current state and location, and act in a safe manner to avoid risks to human safety, property, or the vehicle itself. The autonomous vehicles are fully equipped with sensors and computing capacities, and they assist the autonomous shuttles in perceiving their environment and correcting themselves when facing any driving emergencies. This is to ensure the safety of the passengers. Autonomous vehicles have attracted great attention from both industries and academic sectors during the past decades. The purpose of this paper is to explore some applications of autonomous vehicles.
