Data mining is one of the inter disciplinary fields on the research aspect and particularly research on web mining is the most important part. A prediction technique in data mining plays a major role in the field of recommendation system. The recommender system is to recommend good items to the users. The core objective of this paper is to discuss basic concepts of recommender system and also to describe the basic phases of the recommender system.
