Social accounting is concerned with the development of measurement system to monitor social performance. Sustainability and social responsibility appear to be occupying a place of increasing importance in the surrounding business and organisation. Historically the terms “ Social audit”, Social Responsibility accounting” and “Corporate Social reporting” have from time to time been popular, while more recently social accounts have appeared under the title of “Social Audits”, ”ethical statement”. Social accounting can be used the generic term as it is the longest established and the simplest term. In this paper discuss what is social accounting is and purposes of social accounting.
