Intellectual virtues have been of great interest in several sectors of the philosophical studies both in the ancient times and in the contemporary era-our own time. There is a notion that the importation of the concept of virtue, primarily an ethical concept, into epistemology holds the key to problems in epistemology. In dissecting intellectual virtue one is delving into two realms, that is ethics and epistemology. Hence the question. Is there an actual link between moral virtues and intellectual virtues? As this paper attempts to examine the ethical significance of intellectual virtue using a neo-Aristotle approach of the concept of phronesis in Julia Annas’ arguments and with counter arguments. Thus this paper which is based on qualitative approach advance the proposition that there is a massive overlap between intellectual and moral virtues, puncturing the narratives that there are not compatible, but rather one facilitates the realization of the other.
