In recent years, cities have undergone various changes due to the emergence and adoption of numerous concepts such as sustainable cities, inclusive cities, resilient cities, etc. Today, the focus is on smart cities, which aspire to connect all aspects of urban life. Smart city is a concept that leverages technology and intelligent insights from sensors to make life more comfortable and secure for residents. It reduces the urban consumption of resources, prevents wastage, and enhances comfort and security for residents. The combination of AI and IoT is helping to make the concept of smart cities a reality. This paper investigates the role of AI in the different sectors of the smart cities.
